Women of the Valley Photo Contest Official Rules
This contest is open to any woman with a permanent address in Wisconsin. Participants must be 15 years or older and those under 18 must have parental permission to enter contest.
Entries will be accepted online at www.womenofthevalley.com or by completing the registration form and mailing the form, a digital copy of the photograph (on CD, DVD, or other approved form) and proper entry fees in. CD, DVD or other storage media will not be returned unless you provide a stamped and addressed return envelope.
A non-refundable $5 entry fee per photograph must accompany all entries and all entries must be received in digital format. Participants may enter as many photographs as they would like. Files should be named as follows: Participant Name_Photo Name.
The contest will begin on September 1, 2010 and all images must be received by September 30, 2010. Winners will be announced in the November issue of Queen of the Castle magazine as well as in an e-mail to all participants on November 1, 2010. All photographs submitted will then be placed in an on-line gallery at www.womenofthevalley.com.
Rules for Photographs: Contestants will retain all copyrights to their images. Photographs must be taken by the person entering the contest, if the photographer is under 18 years of age they must obtain parent/guardian permission. No pornographic, disgusting, demeaning, violent or frightening images will be permitted. Extremely altered photographs with text overlays or obvious photograph manipulation will not be accepted. Do not copyright your images as they need to stay anonymous for judging, copyrighted images will not be accepted. With the exception of being presented to the judges your photos will always be accompanied by your name. If you are submitting photos with people in them, it is assumed that you have their permission to enter the photo into the contest and you will be responsible for any and all issues that may result from submitting photos without subjects permission. Things that are not photographs, such as graphic art, scans of things that aren’t photographs, paintings, illustrations, screenshots, etc. will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted or denied at contest management and/or judges’ discretion.
You will need to provide the following information with your contest entry:
- Full Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- Age if under 18
- If under 18 must provide acknowledgment of parental permission
- Name of photograph
Your information will be used ONLY for contest related information, you will receive correspondence as to the winners of the contest and, should you choose, you can be notified of future contests. Your information will never be given or sold to anyone else.
In addition to the above information you will also be asked to agree or disagree to the following:
- Give permission for your photograph(s) to be printed and displayed in a variety of locations including but not limited to: Queen of the Castle Magazine, local shops and restaurants, an on-line gallery. They will always be displayed with your name but you can choose to have your contact information also displayed so that interested parties may contact you about purchasing your photograph(s).

The Women of the Valley Photo Contest and it’s associates are not responsible for entries not received due to lost, failed, delayed or interrupted connections or miss-communications, or other electronic malfunctions. The sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by persons entered at the website or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any human error, which may occur in the processing of the entries in this contest.
By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Women of the Valley Photo Contest, as well as any directors, officers or employees of those organizations from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest.
If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of being conducted as planned, including any causes beyond the control of the administrators, the Women of the Valley Photo Contest reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the contest without notice to the entrants.
The Winner is responsible for any and all taxes payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received.
The Women of the Valley Photo Contest is run by Capture Life, LLC with help from the partners and sponsors listed on the website.
